Looking For A Good Time was the second single from Lady A’s first album, released in 2008. It was written by the bands members, Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood along with Keith Follesé (who was a co-writer on I Love You by Martina McBride – (see the Joe Chemay Bassline here).
The song features the awesome and energetic playing of Craig Young. His weapon of choice is, as always, a Music Man (with roundwound strings and a pick). According to Craig, it was possibly a blend of DI and amp for these sessions.
Keep and eye out for some signature fills in bars 38, 42 and 49 (notably, in the last case, it’s in bar 3 of the section, rather than bar 4, so it doesn’t step on the vocal) and bars 76-77, 87 and 91.
